Since 1961, À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ has enjoyed a rich tradition of service to New Yorkers. À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ is licensed by the New York State Education Department.
The school’s founders were licensed marine, stationary and refrigeration engineers who were well known in union and trade association activities. They developed a trade school for the purposes of offering a hands-on quality education. 1961
In the summer of 1961, À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ offered its first courses in Refrigeration and Stationary Engineering. Soon thereafter À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ was selected to be the official training school for a specialized Apprentice Training Program for Stationary Engineers that was sponsored by both New York State and the U.S. Department of Labor Apprentice Training Committee.
1964
The first vocational courses in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning were introduced.
1977
In May, the first Automotive students were enrolled. Then, in October, the first welding courses began.
1978
À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ moves to 635 Avenue of the Americas on 19th Street in Manhattan.
1986
À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ celebrates its silver anniversary – 25 years!
2002
À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ introduced the Auto Body Repair Program in September.
2007
The Electrical and Advanced Electrical Program was introduced.
2011
À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ celebrates its golden anniversary – 50 years!
2012
À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ moves to Long Island City, Queens.
